Christina Lyon is a Nashville-based singer-songwriter who blends Americana with sharp wit, emotional honesty, and a storyteller’s instinct for finding light in the hard places. Her songs are grounded, a little unruly, and deeply human, delivering hard truths with warmth, charm, and prose. Originally from Southern California, Lyon's musical roots began at the Kids Rock Free program at the Fender Museum in Corona, where she fronted a student band and cut her teeth belting Pat Benatar, Led Zeppelin, and Journey covers. That early momentum carried her onto major stages, opening for icons like Etta James, Bo Diddley, Alien Ant Farm and Lit. These formative experiences shaped her unique voice and stage presence. In her early adulthood, Lyon fronted the psychedelic rock band YENN, performing at venues and festivals throughout California and the Pacific Northwest. Then, life interrupted. Lyon stepped away from music for a chapter marked by health issues and hard-won resilience. During that time, she turned to writing fiction, publishing her short stories in literary magazines and earning an Honorable Mention in the Writer’s Digest 93rd Annual Creative Writing Competition. Even offstage, she never stopped telling stories. She eventually resurfaced and followed a cataclysmic pull across the country in a 17-foot travel trailer, crossing 32 states in search of something she couldn’t place. That journey led her to Nashville, where everything unraveled at once. With old and fresh wounds (and a guitar in hand), she did what any songwriter would do: she wrote her way through it. Now rooted in Nashville, Lyon has a voice that’s lived-in, full of stories, and unmistakably her own. She’s a regular in the city’s songwriter rounds, an active collaborator, and a songwriter steadily building a catalog defined by narrative depth and emotional precision. Christina Lyon writes for those who know a thing or two about starting over; for the ones who can laugh in the middle of heartbreak and still hold on to hope. On stage, that spirit translates into a performer whose vivid stories draw you in and make you feel like you’ve just heard your own story told back to you—only better.
